Celebrating 50 years of media excellence

JUNE 20 – JULY 3, 2025

Hosted by the Department of Media, Journalism and Film in The Cathy Hughes School of Communications, Howard University

Who Are We?

The Howard University Multicultural Media Academy

is a media academy for high school students, this year, teaching our scholars how to report and write stories about the causes of poor health outcomes in communities of color in the Washington, D.C. metro area and beyond.

We admit scholars into our program who are passionate about the world around them -- eager to tell the stories of their neighbors and dig deeply into topics that affect them most.
The program is free-of-cost for all admitted students.
